US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Education and/or Experience Required GS-09:
One year of specialized experience includes meeting TWO of the following:
1) Review plans, specifications, and estimates for proposed contracts for electronic/electrical equipment upgrades; 2) Repair faulty electronic equipment systems such as Very high frequency (VHF) radios, radar systems, Microwave transmission, night vision cameras, telemetric, fiber optic and hydrological devices and various computer systems; 3) Revise equipment circuits to improve efficiency and simplify control of existing or new electronic equipment and systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). OR Education:
Two full years of graduate level education or a master's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, electronics technology, or related field of study. (NOTE:
You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification). OR Combination of Education and
Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. GS-10:
One year of specialized experience includes meeting THREE of the four following:
1) Review plans, specifications, and estimates for proposed contracts for electronic/electrical equipment upgrades; 2) Repair faulty electronic equipment systems such as Very high frequency (VHF) radios, radar systems, Microwave transmission, night vision cameras, telemetric, fiber optic and hydrological devices and various computer systems; 3) prepare technical specifications for the installation of electrical or electronic equipment and or systems; 4) conduct inspections on a Marine Traffic Control and/or Electronic System to ensure optimal operation.:
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education:
Successfully completed Two and a half years (i.e., 45 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as electrical engineering, electronics engineering, electronics technology, or related field of study. (Note:
You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and
Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 9. Add the two percentages GS-11:
One year of specialized experience includes meeting ALL of the following:
1) Develop and/or review plans, specifications, and estimates for proposed contracts for electronic/electrical equipment upgrades; 2) Repair faulty electronic equipment systems such as Very high frequency (VHF) radios, radar systems, Microwave transmission, night vision cameras, telemetric, fiber optic and hydrological devices and various computer systems; 3) Design and/or revise equipment circuits to improve efficiency and simplify control of existing or new electronic equipment and systems; 4) Conduct field inspections of electronic service equipment installed at remote locations and on towers to ensure it is functioning properly. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
